The hijab is a symbol of modesty. The hijab is one of the rituals of Islam. Islam treats women as queens, and it is a protocol for women that anyone except their husband, father, brother, and son cannot see them. This is because valuable things are not for everyone.
قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا۟ مِنْ أَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا۟ فُرُوجَهُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ ٣٠˹O Prophet!˺ Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastity. That is purer for them. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what they do.
And the next Ayah is;
وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَـٰرِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا ۖ وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ ۖAnd tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments1. except what normally appears.2. Let them draw their veils over their chests, and not reveal their ˹hidden˺ adornments
In 1990 according to the report of the American research institute Federal Bureau of Investigation that 1250 rape incidents took place. These are the cases that were reported. This report tells that only 16% of cases were reported. To find the actual count you can calculate this figure. You will find that in one year how many women were raped and then this figure increases that daily 1900 women were raped.
We summarize our answer with an example:
"Imagine two women are twins. Both are passing by a street. At the street corner, a rouge stands. One of the ladies completely covered herself (with hijab/veil) while the second lady was in mini skirts, the second situation is the second lady is in a tight dress. Which lady will tease by a rouge?"
This is a practical example that Islam gives the veil/hijab order to women for her respect and dignity, not to reduce their respect.
